THE VISITORS leapt straight into the attack on their right, their dominant pressure point for attack, but this was kept well under control and a pass to the centre was taken up by Oke's Jo Moppett who went through to score.

Okehampton settled down into some excellent team play with powerful tackling and tag work amongst Sandy Douglas, Jane Jones and Alex Collins. The home side used space well for passing but also through coverage of the pitch.

The visitors struggled to gain momentum although Plym's centre half collected any loose passes and distributed well which led to some dangerous breaks. Viv Weatherington and Jo Moppett were in good form as lead attackers; a pass in the circle from Jo to Viv, who deftly pushed it past the goalie. A third goal came with a strong straight pass on the left from Jane Jones followed by a long, slow push from Jo on the left to gently cross the goal line to make it 3-0 to Oke at half-time

The second half continued the pattern of good team work by the home side. Sophie Cunningham and Eve Colton both showed intelligent positioning and passing while Louise Weller at left half hit the Plym side with swift runs and stick work to turn defence into attack. Lesley Gibson, played an effective and subtle game at right half and finished off an attack to score Oke's fourth.

Plym fought back and got into the circle on several occasions but were stopped by good tackling by Jane Jones and Sandy Douglas

A short corner strike was collected by Louise Weller who then fed it into the attack, which led to Jo Moppett's third goal and Okehampton's fifth.

Okehampton Ladies 1

OKEHAMPTON were confident going into this fixture on the back of a 2-1 victory against Tavistock where player of the match Hayley Wilkins netted a last minute winner.

Top of the table Totnes were totally outplayed by Okehampton in the first half but still managed to go into the break 3-1 up.

Okehampton, looking to improve on second in the league, took a deserved lead after some solid midfield passing from Abby Williams, Kelly Cooper and Louise Cook set Siobhan Aslett up to score on her debut.

The visitors continued strongly with great runs from Siobhan and Kelly Cann on the wings but stuggled to make anything of the chances. A penalty awarded to Oke should have got them back in the game but Cooper put it wide of the posts. Sloppy defending in the last 10 minutes of the first half gifted Totnes two goals and ultimately the game.

The second half was closely fought with superb defending from Lisa May throughout. Oke continued to press but were again unable to convert chances.

Although they lost Okehampton felt they deserved at least a point from the leaders.
