Tavistock Colts 7 Brixham Colts 31 TAVISTOCK had high expectations for this game with, on paper, the strongest squad of players available this season. Even so, Brixham proved a formidable unit in every department, playing their rugby fast and furiously. The half time score of 12-0 still gave Tavistock hope, but a further three tries put the game out of their reach. The threes could not make enough clean breaks with adequate support really to threaten the try line until a Kaminski break through midfield saw Smith in support, who took contact before Dicks continued the drive. The ensuing ruck under the posts saw Friend drive low and hard with Lawson giving strong support behind him for a well worked and well deserved try, which Vanstone converted. Tim Child took the man of the match award having played well in three positions during the game ? wing, flanker and loosehead prop. The tackle count by Tavistock must have been the highest of the season, but ball retention and attacking support could have been better.
