A DIFFICULT game was anticipated against Cullompton as they proved a well drilled outfit at the last meeting.

Tavistock kicked off with a much changed line up due to work and holiday commitments.

The first half finished 31-0 but the second half saw Tavistock fight to salvage some pride, which they did, despite conceding a further three tries.

Jed Bolt pulled off a number of textbook tackles and Tom Vanstone skittled over a rampaging back row forward to prevent a try under the posts, but had to leave the pitch winded immediately afterwards as a result.

Danny Thompson fought all game behind the retreating pack and earned his players? nomination as man of the match.

Rob Finch relished the physical contest and rucked well all game.

When Tavistock kept the ball in the forwards they gained plenty of yardage before releasing the threes but just could not manage to cross the try line, despite much pressure in the last quarter.
