Cullompton Colts 5 Okehampton Colts 10 Playing up the Stafford Park slope the visitors enjoyed early advantage in both territory and possession. Full back Jake Chisolm was hitting the midfield angles making significant ground in the early stages yet despite these gains the Okes were unable to turn the advantage into points. The visitors chose to run several early penalties but again the domination was proving fruitless in terms of points. Eventually Carl Poynton settled matters down with a well struck penalty for a 3-0 lead to Oke. From the restart the Okes again drove into Cullompton's 22 but the continuity shown in some excellent performances in recent weeks was missing - support was often too distant to maintain the attacks launched by the likes of Barrington, Hall and Crocker in the back row. Eventually the pressure started to wear down a resilient defence and after some good handling after a quickly taken penalty, scrum half Richard Friend made it over in the corner but the referee disallowed it for incorrect grounding. A few minutes later Oke's Rob Long showed good strength to power over the line for a try but it was again disallowed. Shortly before half time the breakthrough finally came when Richard Friend straightened the running line through a huge gap to score a well deserved try that Poynton converted for a 10-0 half time lead. The second period began well with George Hall following up well to claim his own team's restart. This and a regular stream of turnover ball being won by Barrington were two of very few highlights in the Okes' second half . After a period camped in the Okes' 22, the home side's number eight, who caused his fair share of problems throughout the game with some powerful running, crashed over from a quickly taken penalty.
