MASTER chef Peter Gorton visited Tavistock College last week to judge the dishes created by budding young chefs. Students from all school years produced a main meal and a dessert from locally produced ingredients as part of the ?Young Chef of the Year? competition. Winners from heats years 7 and 8, years 9 and 10, and years 11, 12 and 13, went through to the final where their creations were judged by the Horn of Plenty?s Peter Gorton and Ross Tregidgo, a former college student. The final winners were Will Bird, college winner, and Marc Smerdon, year 11 winner. Pictured left to right are Peter Gorton, Ross Tregidgo, Marc Smerdon and Will Bird.
