THE achievements of the many talented students from Tavistock College will be celebrated on May 8.

To commemorate the hard work of the teachers in the design and technology department and all the students who have created works of art, the 'Product of the Year' event will be staged in the main hall of the college from 5pm to 7pm.

The event will cover a range of areas including product design, textile design, fashion, food product design, graphic design, carpentry and robotics.

Principal Helen Salmon said: 'We want all our students to develop the skills they will need to thrive in the 21st Century.

'Tavistock College is very proud of its design and technology department. Every year they deliver exceptional results and opportunities for our young people. They organise many exciting events throughout the year which bring in a range of people from local businesses and creative industries.

'This event showcases all the wonderful products made by students over the last year.'

All parents, local businesses and interested members of the public are invited to the event.
