AN announcement is expected at a press conference today (Thursday), regarding the recent Ofsted inspection at Tavistock College.

The college was last year put under 'notice to improve' by the education watchdog and was re-inspected in January.

Colin Eves, the college's principal, left the school in February — Tavistock College is now being headed temporarily by Daryll Chapman, the principal of Okehampton College.

Parents have been invited to a meeting at the college at 6.30pm today (Thursday) and have been sent a copy of the most recent Ofsted report. The college is believed to have been placed under 'special measures', a system providing additional help for a school to improve.
