THERE'S an opportunity to get the week before Christmas off with a swing next week, when Okehampton College hosts its Christmas Concert.

The concert involves students throughout the whole school, from year 7 to 13.

Paul Smith, head of music at the college, said: 'It involves all the college-based groups, the junior and senior choir, the orchestra, the Big Band, Wren Trust's Roots group are playing and other college-based ensembles.

'There will be carols for everybody to join in with, both traditional and some more modern interpretations of Christmas numbers.'

Mr Smith hoped as many people as possible would come along and support the concert, which takes place in the college sports hall at 7.15pm on Thursday December 18.
