OKEHAMPTON College have once again had an extremely sucessful season. Seventeen students were selected to represent the Exeter Area and of those twelve went on to represent Exeter and East Devon in the County Championships. Alex Macgregor was county Intermediate Long Jump Champion, he has a season?s best so far of 6.47m. Kim Davey was second in the Intermediate Girls? Discus. At the Combined Athletics County Championships Okehampton College won the Minor Girls, Junior Girls and Intermediate Boys team events. Rebecca Chapman, Alex Macgregor and Carl Goodall, then represented Devon at the South West Championships. Rebecca and Alex have now been selected to compete at the National Championships later in the summer. In the English School?s Athletics Cup Okehampton College Junior Girls won their first round and qua.ified for the South and West Area Final at Millfield School where they finished fourth. The Intermediatre and Intermediate Boys qualified for the South and West B final, where they finished eighth and fifth respectively. The final competrtron of the year was the Exeter and District Inter-schools Championships, where fifteen schools competed for the coverted trophies. Fielding some very strong and ecxperienced teams Okehampton lifted the Year 7 Girls, Year 7 Boys, Year 8 Girls, Year 9 Girls and Year 10 Boys Trophies. Winning five out of seven competitions entered.
