Bodmin Trophies Duchy League division 3

Tregony 1

Lamerton 6

LAMERTON played Tregony for the third time in five weeks with the two previous encounters being close run affairs.

They began the brighter and it came as no surprise when Kev Swift ran on to a Will Cann through-ball to open the scoring. The second came when a short pass from Paul Cowling was driven home by Steve Gibbings.

Paul Breyley then headed home a Tony Jones corner and when a big boot upfield from keeper Pete Daniel was sliced into his own net by a Tregony defender the hard work was done by half-time.

The home side battled hard in the second half, having been reduced to ten men, and pulled a goal back with a fierce drive from Simon Matthews.

Lamerton came back strongly in the lasr quarter and having gone close a couple of times, Zak Beesley linked up with Dan Healy to bag the fifth. The final goal came when Simon Breyley broke through the defence to hammer home the sixth.

It was a good overall performance from Lamerton with man of the match Ian Collacott outstanding in defence.

This Saturday Lamerton visit Probus in the league, kick-off 2.30 pm.
