OKEHAMPTON entertained Isca on Saturday in their second friendly hockey fixture of the season.
In hot conditions Okehampton settled quickly and pressed the Isca defence back. They took an early lead when Richard Jones beat the keeper to score in an empty goal.
As the half progressed Okehampton grew in confidence but failed to capitalise on their advantage.
In the second half they used their spare players to good effect, and John Cross, in an unfamiliar role on the right wing, pounced onto a rebound and flicked the ball past the keeper to increase the lead. Mark Parsons added a third.
lOn Saturdays, beginning September 20, the Okehampton clubs are running hockey coaching sessions starting at 10am.
The sessions are open to all new players, 10 and over, but if you are an ex-player wanting to refresh your skills come along and join in, or come to ladies' training at 8pm on Wednesdays, or men's training on Tuesdays at 8pm. All session are on the college all-weather pitch.
