MORE than 20 people across Tavistock took part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning on September 25, with the goal of raising more than £8.5-million for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The charity's area fundraising manager Judith Jolly said the 19th coffee morning was a huge success: 'I would like to thank each and every person who helped to make the 2009 World's Biggest Coffee Morning the biggest and best yet.

'Every penny you have raised will fund more of our vital services and help to develop new ways to change lives.'

The total amount raised has not yet been finalised but it is hoped it will hit the UK target of £8.5-million.
