TAVISTOCK Athletic Club has seven newly-qualified coaches thanks to West Devon Borough Council.
Vicky Lloyd, Claire Pitcher, Jemma Sharman, Fiona Arundel, Hannah Colston, David Twine and Andy Houghton all successfully completed a 'Leadership in Running Fitness' course organised by England Athletics at Tavistock College, funded by WDBC.
The course prepares leaders to provide safe and enjoyable first running experiences to people of any level of ability, age, size and shape. All have been coaching for some months now, and they have provided a great boost to the club's coaching team.
TAC head senior coach, Dotty Allan said: 'Having more coaches in our club means that we are able to offer more diverse groups and provide more support for our runners. '
