Tavistock Swimming Club held their annual presentation evening at the Red and Black Club in Tavistock in the presence of the town's Mayor and his wife, Mr and Mrs Robin Pike, club president Kevin Freedman and vice presidents John Reed, Sue Dunstan and Debbie Mills.

The vast array of medals was kindly sponsored by Firewatch South West Limited.

Long distance trophies were awarded to Alexandra Stoecker (girls 14/U), Matt Edwards (boys 14/U), Kirsty Best (girls 15/O) and Michael Best (boys 15/O).

Short distance trophies were presented to Bethany Thompson (girls 8/U), Caitlin Chapman (girls 10/U), Jordan Channon (boys 10/U), Harriet Edwards and Holly Gibbs (joint girls 12/U), Kieran Rookes (boys 12/U), Kathryn Stacey (girls 14/U), Will Carter and Matt Edwards (joint boys 14/U), Holly Brimble and Alice Adams (joint girls 16/U), Tom Crocker (boys 16/U), Kirsty Best (girls 17/O) and Michael Best (boys 17/O).

The club open swim trophies were won by Kirsty Best and Michael Best.

Then followed the presentation of awards decided by the club coaches: Anna Germon, best junior club swimmer; Alice Adams, best senior club swimmer; Alexandra Stoecker, best junior girl; Kieran Rookes. best junior boy; Holly Gibbs, most improved junior; Nathaniel Rookes, most improved senior; Laura Radgick, best open water swimmer; Kirsty Best, club members' own choice girl; Matt Edwards, club members' own choice boy; Harriet Edwards, best in training, Charlotte Mellor; best squad swimmer, Kieran Rookes, Matt Adams, Kris Chapman, Cameron McGurk, Harry Thompson and Jordan Channon (11/U); best relay team, Jordan Channon; coaches' choice, Kirsty Best, best overall swimmer; Matt Edwards, most worthy swimmer.

The new club captains for 2008/9 were welcomed, being Ross Williams and Kirsty Best.
