TEN members of Tavistock Swimming Club enjoyed great success at the first Kelly College Biathlon, including two first places, a second and two thirds. As only one member had previously competed in this kind of event, for some just competing was a great achievement.

Quality running after a fine swim saw Francesca Gould squeeze joint first place in the girls 10-11 age group. This was followed with an inspired run after the fastest transition by Caroline Ball who was not going to be caught taking first place in the girls 12-13 group.

Sebastian Lee battled all the way to take second place in the boys' 14-15 age group. Hannah Ball, who entered at the last minute, made a great start to the day by taking third place in the girls' under 10s. And, in the boys' 12-13 age group, Nicholas Jarman achieved an excellent third place.

Samantha Jarman in the girls 10-11, Anika Heale, Laura Radjick and Felicity Browner in the girls' 12-13, and Holly Chinn in the girls' 14-15 all followed good swims with excellent runs.

Coach Paul Chinn said the swim and run training sessions and the fantastic competitive spirit of club members contributed to a great day at a well organised event.
