Mary Bayliss was the ABTO Accredited Referee, she has devoted much of her life to playing in and running tournaments, but this is her last as she is retiring for a well earned rest and to pursue her other interests. Mary has refereed at Tavistock for the past 16 years and run the Hill Lane Junior Novices which then transferred to Ivybridge Tennis Club for well over 20 years. Tavistock will miss her expertise and friendship.
Mike Prout, the club organiser, thanked Norma Woodcock for her continued support of the club's activities and Mary Bayliss for her many years of service to tennis. He also thanked all the volunteers who made sure the tournament ran without a hitch.
The club has a special thanks for David Isaac for preparing the courts for the event and for all many jobs he does for the club.
