THE annual exhibition of Okehampton Art Club takes place this weekend, on Friday July 27 and Saturday July 28.

It promises a wide range of subjects painted, including portraits, landscapes, flowers, wildlife, and colourful abstracts.

The club's new chairman, Steve Gazzard, said: 'What makes an exhibition exciting is that while everyone has an appreciation of art, they will have different views, tastes and opinions.'

As well as the art collection, there is a raffle, and paintings and cards will be on sale. Visitors can also vote for their favourite picture.

The exhibition is in the church hall on Market Street from 10am to 4pm each day. Admission is free.
