MID Devon Pony Club Girls won all four of the individual classes at the Annual Inter Area Competition at Stockland Lovell. Almost 200 competitors came from as far afield as Pembroke in the West and the New Forest in the East, providing the stiffest opposition of the year so far.

In the senior girls Laura Gomersall came first equal with her great friend and rival Tamsynn Barrington of the Stevenstone & Torrington P.C. and Sarah Gomersall came third. Georgina Geikie won the Senior Novice Girls, Jess Trerise was fourth; while Rebecca Rowe won the Junior Girls class and to round off an amazing day her sister Charlotte won the Mini girls class.

Sarah had the best run in the Senior Girls; Georgina the best shoot and Jess best run and swim in the Senior Novice. In the Junior Girls Rebecca had the best shoot with a stunning 980 and in the Minis Charlotte had best shoot and swim.

There were PB run and swims for Laura, Sarah and Jess; Rebecca had a PB swim and Ellen Bright had a another PB run.

As usual the crosscountry course was beautifully built and posed some difficult problems for the riders. The Mid Devon girls produced some great rounds with Laura, Sarah, Georgina and Charlotte all going clear and Rebecca just having time faults. Jess, Scarlett Geering and Ellen all did well to finish the course with only one or two problems on the way!

In the Inter Area competition the South West did brilliantly. Laura and Sarah were in the Area 16 team that won the Senior competition; Charlotte was a member of the Mini Area 16 team that also won their area competition and Rebecca was in the Junior Area 16 team that came second in their class.
