Tavistock Colts 34 Okehampton Colts 0 TAVISTOCK Colts opened their season with a well earned win over local derby rivals Okehampton. Tavistock fielded a strong XV whose physical play never let Okehampton take the initiative. Sam Morton opened the scoring with an unconverted try from No 8 and this remained the half time score. In the second half, Tavistock took control and ran in a further 29 unanswered points despite spirited opposition from Okehampton. Strong tackling from the threes was a feature of the game with Dan Smith and Will Brown outstanding. Further tries from Will Branfield, Dan Smith, Will Brown and Sam Lawson and a second for Sam Morton completed the scoring. New faces Eliot Jens, Will Brown, Simon Penrose and Rob Shutler all acquitted themselves well on their debuts. Tom Vanstone converted two tries.
