CLARA Nielson from Sampford Courtenay, has been selected for the National Under 18s Ladies Rugby Squad.

The 17-year-old is a member of the Tavistock Ladies' U18s team and her talent was spotted at the National Festival of Rugby in Litchfield several months ago. She had to take part in a series of trials before selection.

Clara is a sixth former at Shebbear College.
