DESPITE losing to a strong Feniton side Whitchurch took a lot of positives from the game.
Invited to bat, the game started poorly for Whitchurch with Hall and Meadows nicking catches from Whitton. Credicott followed soon after but this brought together Aaron Churchill and Phil Mansfield.
Together they put together a substantial century partnership as both Churchill and Mansfield refound their form. In a late dash for runs Mansfield eventually went for 53 but Churchill remained unbeaten on 120 in a total of 207.
Feniton batsmen were too strong though. Despite Rushton bowling out the dangerous Frankpitt for just 4 Cann (38) proved a useful partner to Kingden (54).
Pullen got Feniton close to the total with 55 runs in a total of 208-5. Whitchurch will want to have more control over that awkward customer extras if they want to put real pressure on teams.
