?NEVER work with children or animals,? is the old saying, but the Rev Roger Cornish of Tavistock United Reformed Church doesn?t appear to believe it ? the church is hosting a PDSA Pet Carol Service on Friday, December 13 at 7pm!

?I always look forward to services where there are children and animals as you never know what might happen next,? Mr Cornish said. ?These somewhat unorthodox services have proved to be some of the happiest I have ever experienced. I wonder what unusual pets we will see this year??

The short carol service will include popular traditional carols and readings from various sources in which animals play an important part. Pets will be welcome ? as will everyone, whether accompanied by a pet or not ? and there will be coffee and mince pies afterwards.

Items for the work of the PDSA will be on sale, and the offering will be divided between the PDSA and the church building renovation fund.
