OKEHAMPTON was the venue for the gathering of UK leaders of the Church of the Nations recently.
Almost 50 leaders from all over the country were at an event held at the New Life Church.
Inspiration, which is part of Church of the Nations and meets at the Octagon Theatre, Okehampton, on Sundays, hosted the event.
Senior leader at Inspiration Mike Davies said a venue was needed for a meeting of the UK leaders and he was pleased to suggest Okehampton. They were supported by David Waters, of New Life Church, and the new chairman of Christians Together in Okehampton who allowed them to use the church building in New Road.
Mr Davies said: 'Since Church of the Nations started a new fellowship in Okehampton in January 2000 we have been supported by so many of the other churches in the town.
'It was a great way to demonstrate to our UK leaders how we have been accepted into the town, especially when another church provided us with a venue.'
Inspiration, which was started by Mr Davies and his wife Justine, now have over 30 attendees on Sundays. A Sunday school and creche are also provided.
