SUNRISE on Friday, March 7 on the Pacific Islands of Tonga will mark the beginning of a worldwide chain of worship and prayer. Locally it is the turn of Tavistock Methodist Church to host the service with members of several local churches leading the worship at 2pm. Worship continues from one country to another until the final service takes place as the sun sets over the islands of Samoa. This is an annual event and each year the service is planned by Christian women from a difficult area of the world. This year's service, prepared by the women of Guyana, is on the theme: 'God's wisdom provides new understanding'. More than three million people worldwide will be taking part.
