THE local talent of Lamerton will be showcased at St Peter's Church as it hosts a Christmas concert.

The concert will take place on Tuesday, December 22 at 7pm and is being organised by Maria Collier, who organised the church's festival in the summer.

From the funds raised from the summer's festival, work was able to start on St Peter's Church's renovation.

Scaffolding has now been put in place around the tower ready for cladding, which will allow the building to dry out prior to remedial work that is scheduled to begin in the spring.

The work is being funded by a grant from the Devon Historic Churches Trust, and additional funding has been applied for.

Proceeds from this year's concert will also go towards renovation funds.
