FOR the fourth year running, Christmas trees can be recycled after the festive celebrations at the Leg O'Mutton car park in Yelverton.
Discarded trees can be left in a marked area by the recycling banks any time before noon on January 8 and will be chipped by trainees on a course run by WestDEN's Ley of the Land youth project.
Bags of chippings will be available to the public free of charge.
Pat Mayston of the Waste Not Want Not project said around 5 million trees were dumped each new year.
She said that there was a fantastic response to the scheme last year in Yelverton.
Ms Mayston confirmed there was a need to do something locally.
The hope is to beat last year's number of trees.
Anyone wanting a bag or two of chippings who cannot make it to the car park on Tuesday January 8 should contact Pat on 618068.
