THE annual Christian Aid week got off to a flying start last Sunday with a well-attended united service at St Andrew?s Church in Whitchurch.

Tavistock and District Christian Aid Group have spent the early part of this week undertaking collections and fundraising activities in Tavistock, Whitchurch, Horrabridge, Peter Tavy and Mary Tavy.

Christian Aid?s work this year has been centred about the theme of ?helping people in the third world? and the charity is hoping to exceed last year?s fundraising total of £4614.

The week will be rounded off by a flag day in Tavistock town centre tomorrow (Friday) and everyone is invited to come along and join in.
