ELECTIONS at Callington portreeve choosing ceremony last week saw last year?s deputy portreeve Cllr Jeremy Gist entrusted with the post.
After a short speech thanking outgoing portreeve Cllr Larry Horton for his hard work over the previous year and promising to continue the council?s efforts, Cllr Gist was pleased to welcome Cllr Mrs Denise Winfindale as his deputy.
Cllr Winfindale has made significant progress towards improving youth amenities in the Callington area over the past year and voiced her intention to continue with that work in her new role.
Earlier in the week, Callington Cllr Kath Pascoe was re-elected to serve a further year in her role as chair of Caradon District Council.
All other members of her committee also remain as before.
