I WAS surprised a chip pan fire was put out with a hose reel (Times, June 18). Warning videos always showed firemen dropping water into burning chip pans that then 'exploded' in flame. Could the fire prevention officer remind us if co2 foam or a damp not wet towel should be used please? Dave James Abbotsfield
