A CHARITY concert involving pupils from a number of schools in West Devon raised hundreds of pounds for children's cancer charities recently.

The concert, the second to be held, saw performances from pupils of Milton Abbot, Meavy, Gulworthy, Mary Tavy and Brentor, Bere Alston, Buckland Monachorum and Walkhampton Primary Schools as well as Kelly Prep and the Tavistock Music Academy Jazz Band. The youngsters showed off their musical abilities at the performance at St Eustachius' Church in Tavistock.

The concert raised £723 which was split between Derriford Children's Cancer Service (DCCS) and CLIC Sargent.

The cheques were presented to representative of DCCS Graham Parkinson and representative of CLIC Sargent Petra Russell during an end of term Tavistock Music Academy concert last week.
