HUNDREDS of children from primary schools in Wst Devon visited a very successful science fair held at the North Wyke research centre last month.
The children took part in up to five workshops organised by the science research staff at the Institute of Grassland Environmental Research.
They included 'Flaming photometry', 'Physics is fun', 'The world beneath your feet', 'How does slurry help your grass grow?' and 'How much does a cow burp?'
Physics students from the University of Exeter also helped in the physics is fun workshop.
A spokesperson for IGER said: 'A 'pyromania show' delivered by Dr Roy Lowry from the University of Plymouth really excited the children, teachers and staff!
'It helped to end the week with a bang and showed children that science can be great fun!
