MORE than 200 youngsters stepped out skilfully at Tavistock Folk Dance Club?s festival in the pannier market.

The popular event was opened by last year?s mayor Marjorie Corner, a former member of the club.

The festival was watched by many people, including visitors to the town, who voiced appreciation to club members.

Marjorie Corner presented certificates to each of the 13 primary schools involved and a bouquet was presented to Mrs Juliet Hill, who has relinquished the post of festival secretary after many years.

Tavistock Folk Dance Club meet on Thursdays at the Molly Owen Centre.
