PARENTS are being urged to have child car seats checked at a public roadshow at Safeway in Tavistock on May 8.
The event is one of many being organised by Devon County Council as part of a campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of incorrectly fitting child restraints.
A professional will be on hand to offer advice on purchasing restraints and check that existing ones are fitted correctly.
The council?s road safety team is also organising a series of training days for car sales teams, garage mechanics and retailers of child restraint equipment, to help them advise customers on choosing the right seat for their child and how to fit it correctly.
