A FANTASTIC day was enjoyed at the CHICKS open day and summer fayre last week. The event raised almost £1,500 and gave the community the chance to look around CHICKS (Country Holidays for Inner City Kids) Moorland Retreat in Brentor. Refreshments included pasties donated by Ginsters and home-made cakes and tea. The barbecue was organised by the Lions Club of Tavistock. The day was rounded off with a falconry display by West Country Falconry. CHICKS expressed thanks to everyone who attended, especially to local business, and to Martin Dale, a jazz musician, who entertained visitors.
