A CHEF at Okehampton Training Camp has received a national award for his hard work and commitment. Paul Loughran was chosen by defence, prisons and police support services specialist ESS as one of its Employees of the Year. He was one of just 11 recipients selected from more than 6,500 staff across the UK. To celebrate his achievement, he was treated to a special overnight trip to London by ESS, including a champagne reception, theatre visit and meal out. Paul has worked for the company at the Defence Training Estate at Dartmoor Training Camp, Okehampton since 2001 and lives in the town. He was shortlisted for the national award for his hard work and commitment after taking on additional duties at nearby Willsworthy Camp. Paul?s efforts impressed his client so much that he was personally mentioned twice in their annual report for the outstanding quality of his service. Accompanied by his girlfriend Vicky, Paul joined other ?Be A Star? award winners for the awards presentation in London. He said: ?I?ve never won anything like this before and I?m absolutely delighted. I really enjoy my job because there is so much variety and the help and support I get from my colleagues is always excellent.? ESS managing director Tony Byrne said: ?Congratulations to Paul on this excellent achievement. His enthusiasm and dedication to a job that he clearly loves makes him a thoroughly deserving winner.?
