RAISE a glass to the Royal Oak Inn, Meavy, which has won two awards. The inn has been named Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) country pub of the year runner-up, and the CAMRA cider and perry pub of the year runner-up. Ian Dickinson, chairman of Plymouth CAMRA, said: 'The Royal Oak at Meavy is a great place for quality real ales and a great selection of ciders. 'The range of local ales is fantastic and along with the Westcountry scrumpy cider, it makes The Royal Oak the perfect place for discerning consumers.' The awards were handed out after each Plymouth CAMRA member voted for their top three pubs and favourite for traditional real cider and perry. Members also took into account the quality of real ale, the pub's atmosphere, style and decor, service, community focus, and good overall value.
