ONLY days remain to enter the ?Checkmate? competition and win free theatre tickets. The competition, run by the Tavonions Theatre Company in association with the Times, is based around the theme of chess which, coincidentally, is also a theme within the Tavonians? upcoming play. The play is a comedy called, ?The Farndale Estate Townswomen?s Guild Dramatic Society Production of Murder at Checkmate Manor.? With a title like this the play cannot fail to be funny. To enter the competition all you have to do is find posters of cartoon chess pieces that are around Tavistock. Put the details of the chess piece and where you saw it onto a piece of paper with your name and phone number or use one of the entry slips. Competition entries can be handed in at the Times office or the Wharf. There can only be one entry per person and the tickets will be for the performances on November 28 or 29. The closing date is October 27.
