A 12-YEAR-OLD from Tavistock has raised £380 for Cancer Research UK with a bake sale at Tavistock Farmers’ Market.

Charlotte Love contacted Tavistock Town Council three months ago to ask for their support in providing a stall for a bake sale. She then got in touch with Cancer Research UK for posters and promotional material.

Charlotte said: ‘I have recently become aware of cancer and the impact that it has on the lives of those people diagnosed with the disease. I wanted to do something to raise awareness of the illness and to raise money to donate to Cancer Research UK.’

Her efforts, ably assisted by her friend Lilly Hemmings Davies and her family, means she has raised much more than her £75 target.
