TAVISTOCK Lions Club recently presented cheques of £2,000 each to representatives from HeartSWell South West, the Chestnut Appeal and the Tavistock Triangle Centre, the money having been raised by sponsorship of the lights of the Trees of Light.

Club president Alan Wroath said he was delighted to be able to present the cheques on behalf of the Club to such worthy charities.

He added that the club would be able to distribute around a further £1,000 once the gift aid rebate had been received from HM Revenue and Customs.
