STANNARY Brass Band of Tavistock were delighted to present a cheque for £770.97 to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Derriford Hospital recently.
The funds were raised from donations taken at the band's annual Christmas concert held in St Eustachius Church in December.
The band would like to thank everyone who donated so generiously at the concert.
The band chairman's son, Jack, was born ten weeks early weighing 3lb, and spent the first eight weeks of his life in the NICU until well enough to come home.
Jack is now a fit and healthy three year old.
Stannary Brass Band are now preparing for a busy summer season when they plan to record a CD.
Preparations are also underway for their summer proms concert that will be held on July 2 in the Methodist Church in Tavistock.
The band is always looking for new players of all ages and ability, and would like to hear from anyone interested.
