TWO charity boxes were stolen by thieves who broke into a Tavistock fishmongers overnight on Tuesday.
The charity boxes on the top of the counter were raising money for the Air Ambulance and the Royal National Lifeboat Institute. The offenders gained entry to Phillip the Fishmongers, opposite the Pannier Market, by kicking in the door of the premises.
Police say the break-in occurred sometime between 4.50pm on Tuesday, October 22, and 5.05am on Wednesday, October 23, when the Pannier Market caretaker noticed the damage to the shop door and contacted police.
Sgt Adrian Healy of Tavistock Police asks any member of the public who finds either of the charity boxes to handle them with great care and contact police immediately.
