Heavitree & Wonford 3
Okehampton Argyle 3rds 0
THE first half was quite evenly matched, with Argyle threading together some clever passing moves which were generally cancelled out by a very solid Heavitree defence, who then counter-attacked.
Jackson made a particularly fine save to block a 30 yard shot in the first two minutes. Although Okehampton had most of the possession, they were not able to threaten Wonford?s goal, and the first half finished 0-0.
Both teams made tactical changes at the break. Wonford?s super sub was quick to make his mark, scoring their first goal 23 seconds into the second half, and another 10 minutes later.
Argyle redoubled their efforts to find ways through the opposition?s defence with Morgan, Coleman and Woodhouse gaining most of the possession in midfield. Stepto and Harris both had shots saved.
In the end, despite good quality play, and a rousing captain?s performance from Richard Eddy, Okehampton were not able to make their opportunities count.
Man of the match: Richard Eddy.
