THE Forgotten Garden of Lewtrenchard will be opening its gates for public viewing this weekend to see the restoration work on the garden so far.

Much of the garden, next to the parish church at Lewtrenchard, is woodland, but workers have uncovered paths running through it, planted ornamental trees and replaced a meadow that was originally in the garden.

The opening ceremony at 11am on Saturday, April 30, will include a commemorative tree planting, guided walks and refreshments.
