HERE is the chance to take part in a batty evening at Capel Tor, near Horsebridge, on Friday, September 21. Local botanist and conservationist Martin Summers will lead a bat watch along a stretch of the Tamar that is superb for seeing the mammals. You can learn how bats have evolved, join in with games and enjoy hot soup while watching the bats swoop towards the river. The evening starts at 7pm and will cost £2 per adult, 50p per child. It is suitable for anyone over seven years of age and dogs on leads are welcome. A torch is needed, along with sensible footwear and clothing. Booking is essential on 01579 351681 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
