THEY don?t need to say ? cheese? to smile at the Taw Valley Creamery ? scooping six awards and two special prizes at the Royal Bath and West Show puts a huge grin on their faces. The North Tawton-based firm is celebrating after gaining four gold awards for its Double Gloucester, Red Leicester and Cheddar cheeses, and bronze awards for its Red Leicester and Mature Cheddar. The creamery, which is owned by The Cheese Company, also received several special prizes. It gained the Black Diamond Challenge Trophy for its English Farmhouse Cheddar and the Cheesemakers? Trophy for Excellence in Cheesemaking. Neil Kennedy, managing director of The Cheese Company, thanked all the staff for their hard work and dedication which he said had ?been the foundation of our success?. ?The Royal Bath and West Show is particularly important to us as much of our milk comes from dairy farmers in the South West,? he said.
