AFTER winning the South West U12 Fencing Championships in the last two years, Kelly College pupil, Hannah Bryars, moved up into the U14 age group for this season's championship.
Competing in some cases against those a year older than herself Hannah won all her first and second pool fights, gaining a seeded place into the knock-out rounds with a bye into the last eight.
In the quarter final, she won her fight — 15 to 2; in the semi-final, she won — 15 to 0, thus qualifying for the final. Hannah completed her day with a winning performance in the final 15-4.
As a result of her success in this year's championships, Hannah, the current national U12 champion has secured a qualifying place in this year's national U14 championship.
