STAFF and children at a West Devon nursery school said a fond farewell to two long serving supervisors on Saturday.
Wilma Banfield and Pat Curno have notched up sixty years between them at Penmoor Pre-school, in Yelverton.
They were showered with gifts, including champagne, flowers, chocolate and handmade cards during a special presentation which was attended by pupils of today and yesteryear.
Pat, from Buckland Monachorum, is stepping down after 29 years at the pre-school.
She said: 'Penmoor has been a big, big part of our lives, and it's very sad that we're leaving.
"We've got children there now whose parents were there years and years ago. It's been wonderful to work with so many dedicated and loyal staff over the years.
'I'd particularly like to thank Lyndsey Harvey, Lisa Baird and Viv Barnes, who have been absolutely wonderful.'
Wilma, who lives at Walkhampton, is retiring after 31 years at Penmoor. She and Pat have run the pre-school together in latter years.
Mary Lowther, whose daughter attends Penmoor, said the two women would be sorely missed by everyone involved with the nursery.
'The hall was packed with people wanting to wish them well on Saturday.
'My daughter is going to miss them dreadfully.'
