Chagford v Bridestowe

IN this West Devon derby Bridestowe batting first eased to 31 without loss before Scott Tremain was well caught off Lammonby.

However the next nine wickets fell on a perfect batting pitch for the addition of only 31 runs; with Del Lammonby, for the second week running, taking the first four wickets with only Eddy Jones 13 and skipper Aidie Griffiths 12 making further double figures.

Scores Del Lammonby finished with 4 for 22 in his ten overs and the Chagford spinners finished off the Bridestowe Innings in just 8.3 overs — Mark Gribble with 3 for 6 and Jerry Christophers 3 for 5.   Mark Gribble with a Quickfire 33 and Lammonby 19 not out scored opened the innings but when Barry Down was introduced to the attack he accounted for Gribble and Rowlands in just three balls but it was too late and Chagford won in 11.3 overs by eight wickets with Down's two costing just six runs

Bridestowe will be disappointed with this batting performance as they are a much better side than the scores suggested.

The result gave Chagford 20 league points and Bridestowe one point.

This was Chagford's third win of the season but Bridestowe have yet to record their first victory but with their young talent available it should not be long before they break their league duck in this competitive Devon League.
