SDFL division five Malborough Utd 2 Chagford Reserves 2 TAKING heart from a three point award (for an opposing club fielding an ineligible player) and their tremendous cup-tie last week, Chagford played some of their best football of the season. The visitors settled early, passing the ball about and holding it when necessary. Chances were made and Stocks saw a goal wiped off by the linesman?s flag. The back four looked solid and the teams swapped ends without either scoring. The second half followed a similar pattern with Chris Woof, Chris Ralph and Steve Brown holding things together. Ten minutes in and skipper, Adrian Harvey sent in a long shot that deflected over the home ?keeper. Another ten minutes and debutant Jonjo Fellows capped a flowing move and a good personal performance by finishing well. Somewhat unused to leading, Chagford conceded two late goals to give their hosts a fortunately earned point but can build on a much encouraging display. l This week the reserves travel to Ipplepen Reserves, kick-off 3pm.
