PASSERS-BY were invited to join in a sponsored dance to raise money for Okehampton Mencap on Saturday morning. Organiser Chrissie Read said they decided to do last summer's ?in? dance ? the cha cha slide ? for an hour in the Red Lion Yard to raise money for the charity. Approximately 30 people took part in the action song in the rain, raising in the region of £250. It was also Mencap's flag day, with collectors throughout the town.
